To stay compliant with Chinese market requirements, our laboratory is adopting the latest method reference, GB 5009.268-2025, for trace element testing.
The change is a result of a recent revision to the national food safety standard, GB 5009.268-2016. To ensure we remain aligned with regulatory expectations, we're adopting the newly released GB 5009.268-2025 as the reference standard for all relevant analyses.
- This update ensures that our documentation and reporting remain aligned with the latest standard. There are no changes to test procedures, analytical workflow, result interpretation or TATs.
- We'll update the method reference as soon as we receive IANZ approval for the scope change. You'll see the new method reference on your test report.
- Please review any internal documentation and make any updates required.
Summary of Impact:
- All analytical activities previously conducted under GB 5009.268-2016 will follow the procedures and specifications outlined in GB 5009.268-2025.
- The update may include revised definitions, procedural refinements, updated performance criteria, or modifications to calibration, detection, or quantification protocols, as stipulated in the new standard.
- The analytical validity, accuracy, and traceability of results will continue to meet all applicable regulatory and quality-system requirements.
