Some organisations currently use one LabConnect login or email address across several people - for example quality@company.co.nz.
Why are named users preferred?
The AsureQuality Identity Platform is designed around an individual identity. A named account for each person provides clearer accountability and makes security and account recovery easier to manage.
We strongly encourage organisations to move to named users wherever practical.
What changes with MFA?
A shared login becomes more difficult to manage when access depends on a registered MFA device, recovery code or passkey. Sharing an authenticator or recovery credential between several people can also undermine the security benefits of the new platform.
What if our organisation genuinely needs a shared arrangement?
We know some customers may have operational reasons for their current setup. Do not create an improvised workaround or share personal authentication methods. Identify the arrangement through the readiness survey or contact your normal LabConnect support team so the supported option can be reviewed.
If you are a primary contact, now is a good time to identify which staff actually need LabConnect access and whether named accounts can be created for them.
