AsureQuality provides animal export services to support the export of live animals from New Zealand.

We work with exporters to help meet the certification, inspection and documentation requirements that apply to animal exports. These requirements vary depending on the animal type, destination country and export pathway.

What our animal export services cover

Our animal export services can support a range of export activities, including:

• coordination of export inspections and certification activities
• review of export documentation and consignment details
• support with meeting destination market requirements
• coordination of required testing, treatments or other pre-export activities
• support through the official assurance process where this applies

The services required will depend on the species being exported and the requirements of the importing country.

Requirements can vary by export

Animal export requirements are not the same for every consignment.

Depending on the export, requirements may include:

• destination market access conditions
• import permit requirements
• animal health certification
• pre-export isolation or quarantine
• testing or treatment requirements
• animal welfare approvals
• official assurance documentation

It is important that exporters understand the requirements that apply to their specific consignment before export arrangements are confirmed.

Our role in the process

AsureQuality supports exporters by coordinating and delivering the services needed as part of the export process.

This may include reviewing consignment information, arranging required inspection or certification steps, and supporting the preparation needed for export documentation to be completed.

Horse and non-horse exports

We support both horse and non-horse animal exports, but the way customers engage with us differs depending on the type of export.

For non-horse exports, customers can submit a request through our Customer Care Centre.

For horse-related exports, customers should contact the horse exports team directly at horses@asurequality.com.
