The first step is to decide which National Programme or Food Control Plan (including My Food Plan) your business requires.
Unfortunately, AsureQuality, as a verification agency, can’t directly help you with this decision.
You can either contact MPI or use this online tool to help you with the decision: https://www.mpi.govt.nz/food-safety/food-act-2014/my-food-rules
There is also information on our website that could give you more clarity: https://www.asurequality.com/industries/food/food-supply-chain-certification/regulatory-programmes
After deciding which National Programme or Food Control Plan/My Food Plan you need, please download and complete the Scope and Nature of Works (SNoW) form linked below and then submit back to us.
*Please note that in the Scope and Nature of Works, you will only need to fill in sections 1, 2 and 6.
If you do not already have a credit account with AsureQuality we will also need an authorised person within your organisation to complete and return a credit account application. See more here.
Once our team has processed your credit application and assessed your SNoW, we will send you a Verification Confirmation Letter which confirms to the registrar that AsureQuality has the required resources and trained personnel to be your verifier.
With this letter, you then contact either MPI or your local council (Registrar) to register your business.
Once registered, you can immediately start operations and in most cases your first verification audit will happen within 6 to 12 weeks from the date of registration.
You must send us the Registration Certificate issued by MPI/your local council. As we can only schedule your audit upon receipt of this Certificate.
