Rapid microbiology methods can provide accurate results in one to two days, enabling food producers to get their products to market faster.
We test for pathogens such as:
- Salmonella
- Listeria
- Cronobacter
- Enterobacteriaceae
- Bacilius cereus and other bugs
All rapid testing methods used are approved under MPI Recognised Laboratory Programme for export testing.
Which test method is right for you?
RAPID 1 DAY
We use two key methods for RAPID 1 DAY depending on the bug we are testing for. PCR with dual detection using FRET technology and melt analysis provides improved specificity and a market-leading low false-positive rate. Chromogenic Agar is also used when testing for specific bugs. These technologies are suitable for both product and environmental testing. You should consider using these methods when:
- you require extremely urgent results
- there is absolutely no room for error or a false-positive result.
RAPID 2 DAY
This method uses ELISA technology and is suitable for both product and environmental testing. The main benefits of this method are cost effectiveness and accuracy. You should consider using this method when:
- you have a large number of samples
- time isn’t as critical so you can wait 48 hours.
RAPID Confirmation
Mass Spec MALDI-TOF technology provides fast identification of all key microorganisms, including Listeria, Salmonella and Cronobacter. This test provides the fastest confirmation if you have received a positive screen test result. You should consider using this method when:
- you receive a positive screen result and want urgent confirmation
- you require urgent identification to decide the right course of action.
Traditional methods are best used when specific market access is required. Our team can advise on the best method for your specific requirements.
